ChatGPT šŸ¤ Siri

Real Life JARVIS?

Mate Marschalko is a developer who recently combined Appleā€™s Siri with OpenAIā€™s ChatGPT. The result was a Siri whose conversational intelligence was so good that it seemed like a real-life JARVIS.

For non-Marvel fans, JARVIS (which stands for Just A Really Very Intelligent System) is the AI that powers Iron Manā€™s suit and home. In the movies, JARVIS helps Iron Man with just about everything and is meant to seem incredibly futuristic as it can understand and respond to Iron Manā€™s jokes and sarcasm.

Well, weā€™re living at a point in time where technology may have actually caught up with Stan Leeā€™s futuristic world of superheroes.

Understanding Dialogue

Mate Maschalkoā€™s Siri/ChatpGPT hybrid, which weā€™ll call SiriGPT for now, operates on a different level of robotic conversational intelligence.

Throughout the YouTube video, Maschalko engages with his new-and-improved Siri in an incredibly fluid conversation. For example, the video starts with Maschalko asking, ā€œIā€™m recording this video in the dark. Can you help with that?ā€ to which SiriGPT instantly turns on the lights. If Maschalko had just commanded SiriGPT to turn on the lights, it would be much less impressive (Okay, even that is still wildly impressive). But, the fact that SiriGPT can infer what Maschalko would want based on the fact that heā€™s in the dark is whatā€™s so impressive.

Throughout the video, Maschalko throws out a combination of comments, questions, and commands. Every time, SiriGPT uses the context clues and implications in Maschalkoā€™s phrasing to provide near-perfect responses. It honestly felt as if Maschalko was on the phone with a human assistant, not giving commands to a computer.

Looking Forward

Watching SiriGPT perform tasks for Maschalko while flawlessly understanding his dialogue gave a similar feeling to the release of the original iPhone. When the OG iPhone was released, it was instantly clear how much more powerful it was than a flip phone or Blackberry. It took a few years for smartphones to take over but, once they did, there was no going back. The same may be true with SiriGPT. You just get the feeling that we have entered a new age of technology when it comes to AI and voice assistants.

Right now, this SiriGPT-style tech is still in its infancy. However, thereā€™s little doubt that itā€™s going to seep into just about every single industry in varying ways over the next few years. While SiriGPT already shines as a home assistant, thereā€™s little doubt that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

To prove how powerful ChatGPT is, youā€™ve actually been reading an AI-generated article this entire time and I bet you couldnā€™t even tell the difference, could you?

No, thatā€™s a joke! But just imagineā€¦

Bonus Content: New Fund Launch

VoiceCrew - we have a piece of bonus content for you today from one of our subscribers. In case you missed it, a new venture capital fund for conversational AI and voice technology called Project Voice Capital Partners (PVCP) recently launched on January 1.

The goal will be to find and support early-stage startups working across a broad spectrum of language technology, including synthetic media and generative AI. We reached out and asked them if they'd like to elaborate a little and the following is what they sent us. We love supporting our audience so maybe by putting this out in the universe something good will come from it. Best of luck, Bradley and Marc!

No Words To Describe The Growth Of Conversational AI

Even if you asked ChatGPT or the exponential conversational AI products prior to that, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, to describe the growth of conversational AI - even they would likely find it difficult to describe just how quickly this area of technology has grown.

Well, maybe ChatGPT wouldn't have trouble with that. And maybe that's the exact point.

Conversational AI has arrived. The concept of speaking to technology, whether via voice, text, or chat, has long been a dream but only recently has started to work really well.

And wow, does it work.

Call centers are able to more efficiently handle incoming call volume thanks to conversational AI. Doctors and nurses can spend less of their valuable time with mundane (and error-prone) manual record keeping thanks to conversational AI integrated into modern healthcare practices. Restaurants are no longer held hostage to a macro-level labor shortage, and are able to continue admirably serving customers thanks to voice interaction on top of AI built into their drive-thru operations. Pre-teens and teenagers have safer experiences online through conversational AI-driven content moderation.

The list goes on and on.

There's something magical when a new technology gets close to delivering on its enormous promise. Itā€™s a special place where users exit the trough of disillusionment and enter the slope of enlightenment. There's a utility to be found everywhere, and a new question emerges: where are the best places to integrate conversational AI today?

Fortunately, there are a lot of people at promising startups thinking about that question, as demonstrated in this market map created by Project Voice Capital Partners (PVCP).

If you're an accredited investor wanting to participate in this exciting area of innovation and disruption, join us with the newly created Project Voice Capital Partners Rolling Fund.
