Happy Friday! The top 10 posts of 2023 countdown is on. Coming in at number 9 from April 20th’s post: 🚿 Avoid These April Showers.

Dear Investors: What would you do if the dollar collapsed tomorrow? Are you ready to face the consequences?

The truth is, the dollar is not as stable as we once thought. The national debt is skyrocketing, inflation is rising, and the government seems unable to control it. All of this points to a possible collapse of the dollar, and the consequences will be catastrophic.

To help you prepare for this eventuality, we have prepared a complimentary report called "Death of the Dollar - How To Prepare".

Avoid These April Showers

There's an old saying, it goes something like this: "April showers, bring May flowers." Perhaps you've heard it once or twice? Well of course you have unless you've lived under a rock your whole life. While these spring showers are pleasant and cozy (unless you live in Ft. Lauderdale), there's another type of shower that we want to try to help you avoid.

These are the types of showers that occur when a pipe breaks. Honestly, it's the worst. Running water and broken pipes can cause major damage. Thankfully, Alexa can help notify you when something like this happens.

Lean on Routines

In the past, we've told you about a cool feature that lets you use sound to kick off a Routine, like an appliance buzzer giving you a text alert that the laundry is done.

Did you know you can also do this with the sound of running water? If not, this is useful in many ways.

Say you go away and your pipes freeze? Instead of coming back a week later to a disaster, you can set up a text alert and get a neighbor or plumber in there stat.

And it’s useful when you’re at home too, whether it’s to listen for an overflowing bathtub or for a kid who has a tendency to forget to turn off the faucet when he’s done washing his hands.

Here's How it Works

  1. Go to the Alexa app and tap More on the bottom right.

  2. Tap Routines, and then tap the plus sign in the upper right to create a new one.

  3. Enter the routine name, say “Running water alert”

  4. Then, tap When this happens and select Sound Detection, then tap Water Sounds

  5. Choose which device you’d like to listen to for the sound—say, your bathroom for laundry, or the basement for frozen pipes. Then tap Next.

  6. Under Add action, you can create the response you’d like, like a text message saying that water is heard. You can also use the calendar to set the timing, such as when you’re on vacation.

  7. Tap Save and you’re done!
